School health : 

It is a group of initiatives, programs and services that are provided to enhance the health of school-age students and to promote community health through schools.

​The main goal is: 

Raising student’s health awareness by using specific health indicators and monitoring them periodically.

School health programs and initiatives: 

1. Exploratory Screening Program :

It is a medical program aimed to early detection of some health problems by conducting specific examinations , recording them , building a health database for students and providing health awareness. 

The main goal is: Enhancing the health status of school students through early medical interventions. 

2. Pre-school Fitness Screening Program : It is a medical examination program for all new students before school enrollment for early detection of health problems . 

The main goal is: To determine the student's educational path (General education - Special education).

3. Health Awareness Program and activation of World Health Days : 

School health central teams do awareness lectures for school students and for school health counselors. 

The main goal is:

Enhancing the health education among school environment members and improve healthy habits. 

4. The National Initiative for the Dental Caries Prevention in Primary School : 

It is an initiative that includes dental awareness aspects and prevention measures for students in primary schools.

Objectives:

⁃to promote oral hygiene and dental awareness for primary school students. 

⁃ to achieve the national goals to reduce the incidence of dental caries.

⁃ to raise the health awareness for students.

⁃ to refer and treat detected cases.

5. inspection visits for the environment and the school canteen program :

It is a program concerned with health supervision of the school environment and the school canteen, where health teams visit all public and private schools for all levels ( primary , intermediate , and secondary ) . 

The main goal is: 

Ensuring the safety of the school environment , and ensuring the health and safety of the food in the school canteen in accordance with the health requirements for canteens .

​6. Case Management Program :

It is a program to follow up all the students with any of health conditions that have been discovered by school health teams during Exploratory Screening Program to ensure that the necessary health care is provided for them and to invest all the available resources in enhancing the health status of students.
